Srixon ZX Mk II Irons Review - Perfect for Combo Sets
excellent observations. I did the test and I can't get my elbow past vertical; I also concentrate on the flat left wrist and loaded right wrist.
Thank you for your comments Steve. Yes, thats fairly typical, so wrist angles are key!
Excellent video Glen about factors involved in shallowing the golf swing. I do pay a lot of attention to the folding and unfolding of my right elbow. However, I don't loose sight of the importance of a flat left wrist and a bent back right wrist in getting into a shallow position. Well Done Glen! Keep Up The Good Work!
Thanks John. Sounds like you’re on the ball! 🙏
@@AussieGolfPros Much thanks to you and your videos Glen! Couldn't have done it alone!
Glad we can help! 🙏
Hi Glen, these videos are really helping and am recommending them to my students. Cheers Phil Bowden HBGC
I saw the first swing and went “I’m not trusting a guy with that kind of swing” then I immediately hear “does this look like your swing” lmaoooo
🤣 Gold! Thanks Andrew! 🙏
I have found that club grip you have described is a must for a great ball compression and a must for a great swing
Definitely a digger, probably coming in too steep, especially poor during winter, will open face and shallow swing. Annoying as getting to good positions then wasting a shot or two on the pitch. Thanks for the info.
This is great
Are you trying to hit a draw or a fade with this shot? How would you choose one shot shape over the other?
Great analogy!
The claw seems to hold the face on you're line rather than traditional and it traveling inside
I was not able to find the PDF for this routine and I would love to have it. Can you help with a direct link? Thank you.
Hi Marian Thank you for your inquiry. The Training Guide is there within the ‘Library’. We changed the thumbnail for this video, which is why you probably can’t find it. Our apologies. We’re in the process of reorganising the training guides, so they’re easier to find. In the meantime, look for the heading: ‘Move It Old Man’ 😜 Hope this helps. Cheers
@@AussieGolfPros Thanks so much. I will definitely check that out.
🙏
Awesome tips, do you recommend to only have three wedges? Also are you coming to the Sunshine Coast?
Thanks Wayne I actually carry a pitching wedge too, so 4 wedges. Realistically, 3 is enough for most golfers. The lob wedge takes much practice! I’m back home now but did enjoy one round at Mt Coolum, beautiful! Where do you play Wayne?
@@AussieGolfPros awesome, I’m about to purchase a new set so I’m going to settle for three wedges. Mainly play at Maroochy River although I enjoy Maleny course
Super! Which model wedges are you getting?
@@AussieGolfPros hi, not sure. I’m on the search, do you recommend something?
Excellent job Glen in describing the best way to hit perfect pitch shots. I have been having trouble lately just coming up short of the green with my 100 yard in pitch shots. I think that my main problem is in my backswing and maybe decelerating coming through the ball. I like your idea of "watch the belt buckle" and "the hand path is up while the club is coming down!" Also, your suggestion of "calibrating" the irons is an excellent one! Well Done Glen!
Thank you for your kind words of support John. Let’s sharpen up your wedge game! Cheers
You’ve explained exactly what I do half the time so thx. I thought this was a myth cuz u never see pros set up 1-2” behind the ball?? So, why do instructors tell golfers this myth?? No help at all. Thx much.
Glad to help! Great to hear from our viewers in Canada! 🇨🇦
I would like to comment and would like to know your opinion. (I know everyone has their own swing etc) What I have come to conclusion is that for me when I use my right trailing side (yes also hip) towards the target as if I greet the target, my swing has produced great consistency. I used to have more leading hip for downswing initiation (yes also great results but not so consistent and efficient) and I believe it is more manipulated swing (bump, press the left foot etc) than when I use the trailing side and just swing through. My trailing foot does also not stay too long on the ground.
This is exactly what I’ve been working on lately. The important thing to remember is to keep the speed up on the downswing. Trust the length of the backswing to control your distance. Great stuff again Glen. Thanks
Right on Steve! 🙏
Do you change your grip or any part of your setup or swing? Or it’s basically full swing mechanics but just 75% backswing?
Thank you for your question @MJ1331EL. Essentially, it’s a shortened version of the full swing. Some golfers prefer a slightly narrower stance but grip, ball position, etc. remain the same. Ultimately, there will be less wrist action for partial shots. Hope this helps. Cheers Glen
Great lesson again Glen. Maybe someone should explain how to quickly calculate yards to metres.
Thanks Stephan. Just take off 10%. Cheers
Great tips, any tips for someone that finds all pitches going several yards right?
Thank you for your question Steve. Firstly, identify which of the 3 possible reasons, why you are hitting to the right: 1. Swing path to the right 2. Clubface open 3. Mishit (heel or toe) You should be able to work this out with a ‘down the line’ video. Next, correct the error by attempting the opposite. We look forward to hearing how you get on. Cheers Glen
Good stuff here. I like that you mentioned the shallowing and where the handle points because that's what I was gonna ask about.
Glad it was helpful Tom. Thanks
Why do you talk in yards and not metres
thanks glen great advice and i need it. could you do it in metres, i lose it in yards these days thanks mate
Thanks for your question Glenn. Having played much golf in the UK, I’m comfortable thinking in yards or metres. The majority of our viewers are based in the U.S. and U.K., where golf is measured in feet and yards. Take off 10%. E.g. 70 yards = 63 metres. Cheers Glen
Please take off 10% for metres. E.g. 80yards = 72metres. Thank you.
Good work Been working hard on sand bunkers and enjoying it
Good on you Wayne!
Glen Haynes, good idea! I haven't seen anyone do this before. thanks, Glen Hayes
Thank you for your feedback Glen (close name!) We look forward to hearing how you go with the drills.
A lot of brave ducks at this golf, trusting in the abilty of Glen's shots.!
Hopefully, they’re safe! 😜
So is it more taking the entire club shaft straight back as opposed to just taking the clubhead back inside? Thx!
Yes Travis. In the takeaway, it’s best to keep the entire club straight back and in front of your body. Cheers
Very helpful video, thank you. One thing I struggle with now that I’m 50 myself is when trying to get a bigger back swing, I take the club too far behind me and flat. Is there a way you utilize to prevent this? Thanks again!
Thanks Travis I see you found our video on the takeaway. Super drill included in that one!
Wow, great demonstration.
Thank you so much! 🙏
For me it is caused by my brain targeting the ball. My best shots are when I can imagine another ball ahead of it. But this rarely works.
Easy to become ball bound. Try it with plastic practice balls, then work your way up to the real thing. We look forward to hearing of your progress.
I kind of came about this by accident.... when I was flushing my 5 irons, I noticed that I did so when I concentrated on the right hip coming thru... if the right hip comes thru, the left hip has to go back... and I got decent club head speed with right hip coming thru. Then I tried it with driver and same thing.
Great to hear Steve! Thank you for sharing. 🙏
Your stick drill demonstrates clearly to me to start my downswing by firing my lead hip which then turns my trail hip towards my target automatically. The lead hip firing on the downswing provides the sling shot explosive power for the 1/3 rd second of the downswing. Don’t take my word for this: Bobby Jones said this years ago and no other golf instructor has said it since. But remember you heard it from me. Cheers. 😊🥂👍
Love it! Thank you Thomas. I’ll have to swat up on Bobby Jones!
Hi Glen, this straight arm technique is not one for seniors lacking mobility in the back and hips and ones that cannot make a fuller backswing. A slight bend of the elbow (not a collapse of the elbow) provides a fuller backswing and a more relaxed and tension-free swing. Tension in the arms and hands are a swing and distance killer. Golfers of all ages tend to watch and emulate professional golfers with a variety of swing styles and walk off the course frustrated with their game as well as sore neck, back and hip soreness. JMHO. 🇨🇦👍👨🦳
Thank you for your comments Richard. We agree, as mentioned in the video, tension is detrimental to performance. However, we would much rather you achieve a fuller backswing by allowing your lead heel to come off the ground, rather than collapse the lead arm. Cheers Glen
Awesome video, I’ve video my swing and I have a bend towards the end. Is that ok? My speed is still good
Yes Wayne, as long as it’s only a little.
I should do this now... missing on the high side. Been playing in the same course for nearly 12 years and still doing three putts!
Thanks @tatski2274. We look forward to hearing how this helps! Cheers
I've been having very inconsistent game lately and this may be the reason. Thank you again.
Hope this helps. Thank you
Love the tips, great for a high handicapper like myself 🙌
Thanks Daniel Hope you’re enjoying your travels!
Love the stick drill. Thanks so much!
You're so welcome Ken. 🙏
Excellent! From Toowoomba here :)
Hello there! Thanks for checking in.
Great tips! Thank you Glenn! I've been struggling with my putting when winter came 3-4 putts at time.
No worries. 🙏
Iv seen great golfers play from either side. Some feel like it's the left arm and some the rt.
Jack Nicklaus always said golf is a 2-sided game.
thanks Glen
Cheers Ian Hope you’re flushing ’em!
I didn't realize how inflexible I was until I went through these stretching routines. Very Helpful!

Thank you from Canada.
Great to hear from you Christopher in Canada! 🇨🇦
Great tutorial 🙏
Thank you 🙌.
Great video, Glenn. Simple tips that become habitual. I’m 75 and finally I’m starting to “get it”.
Good on you David. Thanks for your feedback. 🙏
I find it sad that with all the great stuff on this video, some want to hone in on the 300 yards. I am 78 yrs old. I believe that if we're on a fairway that promoted roll out, and I really synced everything up, I could get to 300. Now that only happens in about 3 blue moons🤪
Stop encouraging this guy. You do realise he’s only doing it for clicks.
No he is telling us older players to get length im 75 and hit 220 yds my players in the four some are 10 years below. But the end is the short finish one chip one putt
How do you hit shallow? What’s the opposite of shallow?
Thank you for your questions @BallerP. The opposite of shallow is steep, in golfing terms, this is when the club is approaching the ball from a high position. A shallow angle of approach to the ball, will have the clubhead skimming the grass, rather than digging into the ground. Hope this helps. Glen
I liked this video but the sound quality during most of the video needs to be checked.
Sorry to hear that @Hari. On which device are you watching our videos? We’ll check it out. Thank you.
@@AussieGolfPros I played it on a fairly new Lenovo Carbon X1 (Windows 11) and a new iPad Pro 13’.
@@AussieGolfPros At about the 0:52 sec., it only plays through the left channel.
